Writing after a long time - been planning for the forthcoming trip to India and have been shopping, planning and packing like crazy.Flying economy class and that too with Siddhant in our laps, I wanted to make sure we are flying an airline that has the most comfortable seats in its economy class. Checked out SeatGuru.com but while it had information about individual airplanes and airlines, I decided to put together a comprehensive ranking of airline seating information so other Underdogs out there can come up on top when traveling long distances.
One caveat: this list does not contain all airlines and all available airplanes but will give you an idea about the top comfortable airlines and seats. These are ranked in the descending order of comfort in my mind: space between your seat and the seat in front of you multiplied by the width of your seat = comfort factor.
Also, some of this information may change by the time you read this since airlines constantly keep making adjustments to their seats to earn more revenues!
(***Correction*** The seat width is in inches, not centimeters, unless you are Nicole Richie because then it really does not matter. And she does not travel economy class!)

We took the advice and we flew qatar airways.. its an absolute delight.. the trip was great, food was awesome, crew pleasant and extremely helpful, our kid got goodies and in all we had enough room to travel economy and still had enough legroom... highly recommended!!!
